Michigan City did not finish the way any of us wanted. Conditions ended the weekend before every class got its racing in. This page explains exactly how Michigan City points will be awarded, and what your options are. Michigan City will count for qualification towards Key West for ALL MICHIGAN CITY ENTRANTS.

1Classes with Michigan City points already final

The following classes for Michigan City racing is considered final. Their points are awarded and are posted on the RWO National Standings page as they currently stand. Nothing changes for these classes.

2Mod V, Bracket 600, Bracket 700, V Limited

These classes did not get their Michigan City start. You have two options.

Option A – Race Michigan City at Clearwater

Your Michigan City Saturday entry fee rolls forward to Clearwater.
You run Saturday at Clearwater. That race is scored as your Michigan City race. Michigan City points are awarded off that finish.
You then have the opportunity to run Sunday at Clearwater for Clearwater points. Sunday is a separate entry and a separate entry fee.

In short: Saturday earns Michigan City points. Sunday earns Clearwater points. Two races, two entries, two sets of points.

Option B – Take the refund

Request a refund of your Michigan City entry fee.
Your money is returned in full.
You are scored zero points for Michigan City.

3Super Stock

Super Stock qualified at Michigan City but was not awarded points. Here is how Super Stock is handled at Clearwater.

Michigan City qualifying carries forward. Your Michigan City qualifying order sets the starting order for Saturday racing at Clearwater. Your Michigan City registration fee rolls forward to Saturday.

Saturday at Clearwater

This is your Michigan City race

One race.
The Saturday finishing order is your Michigan City finishing order. Michigan City points are awarded off that finish.
Super Stock also qualifies on Saturday for the Clearwater race.

Sunday at Clearwater

Clearwater race, run in two halves

Race 1 (Sunday morning): the starting order is set by your Saturday qualifying order at Clearwater.
Race 2: the finishing order of Heat 1 becomes the starting order for Heat 2, in the same race.

Super Stock teams may instead request a refund of the Michigan City entry fee. Money back, and zero points for Michigan City.

4Who is eligible – and who is not

Michigan City make-up racing is closed to Michigan City entrants.

If you were not entered at Michigan City, you cannot pay in and participate in Saturday racing at Clearwater to earn Michigan City points. No exceptions.

Saturday at Clearwater exists to settle Michigan City for the teams who showed up and were denied a start. It is not an open race.

Teams in Mod V, Bracket 600, Bracket 700, V Limited and Super Stock must notify the RWO admin of their choice – roll forward to Clearwater or refund. Email admin@raceworldoffshore.com
