The 2025 XINSURANCE Great Lakes Grand Prix in Michigan City was a standout event marked by exceptional racing, chamber of commerce conditions, and overwhelming local support. Held August 1-3, the weekend opened with excitement and anticipation across the board. Fans packed Franklin Street for the always-popular parade, which brought teams, boats, and energy straight through the heart of the city. The parade’s turnout was one of the largest in recent memory, setting the tone for a spectacular race weekend.

Across all 13 classes, teams delivered fast, competitive racing on Lake Michigan under clear skies and steady wind—ideal offshore racing conditions. From Pro Class 1 to Class 700, fans witnessed tight finishes, commanding victories, and strong performances across the board. Highlights included XINSURANCE South’s double win in Pro Class 1 and Super Cat, GC Racing’s Factory Stock victory, and Hi-Tech Deck’s Super Stock win.
While the weekend was filled with incredible racing and celebration, our thoughts are especially with the racers who suffered leg and foot injuries during the event. The entire Race World Offshore family is pulling for you and wishing you a fast, smooth recovery. We know how tough offshore racers are, and we look forward to seeing you back stronger than ever. Thank you to the local emergency personnel, RWO medical staff, and our safety divers for their prompt response and care towards our injured racers.
The racer’s dinner and awards celebration were both well-attended and enjoyed by all, rounding out a memorable weekend for teams and officials. This year’s event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of LaPorte County, the City of Michigan City, and countless local partners who worked behind the scenes for months. Their coordination and hospitality played a major role in making the 2025 Grand Prix one of the most successful editions yet.
Race World Offshore extends its gratitude to the teams, fans, volunteers, and sponsors who helped make this event exceptional. With its continued growth and strong community engagement, the Great Lakes Grand Prix remains a cornerstone of the offshore racing calendar. We look forward to returning to Michigan City in 2026 for more top-tier racing and unmatched local enthusiasm.
